Worst Bloodline Ever.

Cam Junk. Skip if you don't care.

I'm really sick of being a Libitinarius. I chose the bloodline for RP reasons instead of crunch, and I've not had a game yet where I haven't been made to regret it.

I'm getting -really- sick of having to explain to STs how my power works, repeat that it's not some custom cheeze I bribed my way through the approval staff but in fact was written by white-wolf for -my- covenant, and having to police other players who like said STs don't seem to listen to my explinations of how the power works. Plus it's mostly a downtime based bloodline, so I get bored at games.

Ugh.

At least the latest addendum fixed the large amount of XP debt I gained. Now if I could you know ... actually have a 5th dot of my bloodline power, and not have to explain my bloodline to every single ST I intereact with, it would almost be peachy.

Why does half of the STs I interact with look at me really funny when I do anything? *sigh*

Katherine Ray King: Equilibrium Killing is the Answer
Because you're fuzzy?

To address the actual issues, though, I can think of several instances where I've proxied (or you have) and an ST has said to me privately "Lib! I love that bloodline, I think they're awesome, it's one of my favorites."

So, they aren't all unaware of how the powers work and stuff, it's just that you never hear from the good ones that do know.

I'm right there with you in frustration over lack of a 5th dot power.

We need to do some RP at some point I think.. =)

I can just see it now ... our two characters sitting around, complaining that we can't master our bloodline powers.

That would be hilarious.

And yes, we do need to RP. :)

Jamie,
You also figured out that bloodline very quickly and squeezed as much cheese from it as you could, but your use is probably one that White Wolf intended, if not as powerful, so when presented as you have figured out to present it, the powers come off as either really broken canon (something the Cam MUST have nerfed) or as extremely cheesy custom (something VST->MST should have caught)...
But as a player of both the Invictus (we get cheap Mentor merit! and 95% of our covenant book has no use in LARP) and OD (Coils only make sense if DT stuff has teeth), I can feel for you on the 5th dot.

I challenge you in the worst bloodline ever campaign. I'm Nahualli, my bloodline power is nigh useless. Really. We don't even get a fifth level of the power. Useless!

I seem to remember that I found some cool uses for your power when I read your bloodline. But I will give you that they didn't print a 5th dot for your at all.

My 5th dot is actually cool ..... if your playing a tabletop game with time-jumping elders.

Remind me during night-time sometime and I'll see if I can squeeze some cheeze from your bloodline.

Suggestions:

Carry a sheet of paper with a list of the disciplines on it that sums up what it does, how it works, whether it can be used at game (that's probably a big recommend, put that in bold all caps) and where in the addendums or approvals it was approved or altered for play.

But above it, just below the title, in bold all caps, state in stupid people speak what it does.

if every power has "remove heart from willing person - only usable during downtime" and the like, you'll probably find a lot less trouble.

As somebody who isn't playing a bloodline at all, I'm not sure how much sympathy to have for any of you. I may, if the game doesn't get reset sometime in the next 3 years, eventually get flicker, and that'll be all I have to show for being a straight mekhet. nyah nyah.

Good ideas.

Too bad I already do them. Seriously. I've had the write-up of the bloodline power writen on my character sheet for over a year, so when people argue with me on how it works or call me names I can pull it out.

I also tend to email the same write-up to people who benifit from my powers. And yet, I still get crap from people, mostly STs who don't have a local Libitinarius and don't believe what they can do. It's really weird being called cheezy by STs that have local 800+ Xp characters in their venue with multiple custom powers. I've even had a ST at a FGotM I traveled to write up House Rules -Specifically- to Nerf my bloodline power, and I was the only person there with it.

As for the Pure Mekhet stuff, :P :::: (that's a rasberry) to you. Stuff like that didn't exist when I joined my bloodline. Being a Mekhet got you .... your in clans, and there was no Mekhet Clan RP at the time either. Helped Chris Williams and others build that in chronicle. Only to find out most of the cool powers I can't have cause I joined a bloodline before they were written :(

Yeah I got a weird e-mail from my st about the power you used on me at ICC and was wondering why he was asking questions? He said he wanted to talk to you about it and I was wondering if he ever did. I asked him to tell me what hte question was for but he apparently chose not to tell me.
